Summertime Sun - Sat, Jun 28, 1 PM - Let’s learn more about the Sun while playing games and making ‘photographs’. This 45 min program will take us on an imaginary trip around the solar system and back. Program is for children in grades 3rd -5th only. $2.00 fee to be paid at start of program. Adults must accompany children. Pre-registration required.

Summer Hike - Sun, June 29, 10 AM - Come to Kinder Farm Park in search of interesting birds, animals, and plants. Bring binoculars if you have them and dress for hiking. We will explore the unpaved trails of Kinder in hopes of finding sure signs of summer. Pre-registration is required and all ages are welcome. Strollers are not recommended for this hike and all children must attend with a parent or guardian. We will meet at the front of the comfort station. . Pre-registration required.

N.C.L.I. Nature Hike - Sat, Jul 5, 9 AM - This hike is to promote and celebrate the national “No Child Left Inside” initiative of getting children outdoors and more connected to nature. In doing so, health benefits of a more active, less sedentary life style are realized. Ranger DeVault will lead this walk along the meadows and woods of Kinder Farm Park, looking and listening for birds, deer and other wildlife. Recommended for ages 9-13. Meet at the park’s Youth Group Camping Area. Ranger Chesto will be doing a similar walk for children ages 5-8. This younger group will meet at the Comfort Station Classroom. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration required.

Chores on the Farm - Sat, Jul 26, 10 AM - Can you imagine a time when kids had to chores like milking a cow, fetch water, hand wash your clothes and garden all in one day? Join Ranger Shawna for a walk around Kinder’s Farm Complex and see what it was like to live back in the late 1800’s. This ½ an hour walk will end with a craft. For children in grades 2nd-4th only. Meet at the Main parking lot. Adults must accompany children. Pre-registration required.

Composting and the Mighty Earthworm - Sun, July 13, 11 AM - Join Ranger Jessica to explore the art of composting. We will look at how Kinder Farm Park composts and why. We will also discuss why anyone with the space should do so at home. Also to be discussed will be earthworms and how they compost for the planet. This program will be a beginners program and is suitable for all ages. Attending children must be with a parent or guardian. Pre-registration is required and we will meet at the park office porch. Pre-registration required.

Down on the Farm - Wed, Jul 16, 6:30 PM - For all ages – this walk through the barns will introduce you to the livestock that are cared for by the 4H members at Kinder Farm Park. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Meet at the main parking lot. Pre-registration required.
